Checking out trucks old vs new

I checked out a new truck the other day and as much as love the idea of having a new truck, I don’t particulary like the 2007 Toyota Tacoma Model – its too big and bulky. Nor do I like Concord Toyota very much, I test drove a truck I wasn’t particulary interested in and as soon as I told the sales guy that I wasn’t buying anything today, he was kind of an ass. I realize he’s out there to make a commission but don’t think you can bully someone into buying if they don’t wanna. I wanted to check out pricing and see if my car was worth anything – its not, I’ve paid almost 20K on it and its only worth 1500.00 to Toyota, although I just checked out the blue book value if its a trade in: 2500.00 and suggested retail value is about 6000.00 which is more like it – Toyota was trying to rip me off..bad decision on their part + Concord Toyota told me my payments would be about 600.00 per month – huh, no way am I buying a truck with payments like that especially after I went and checked online at Toyota and I could buy one for 399 per month. What they say about a woman shouldn’t go shopping for a car or truck on her own – is so true – definetly take a guy with you, any guy because salesmen are sleazy, not all salesmen, i’ve met some nice ones. And then Concord Toyota keeps calling me – stop it, I’m not buying a truck from you guys period.

So after all is said and done and while the idea of buying a new truck is a thought, I don’t have 20K for a new truck and I was thinking about maybe buying an old Ford Truck – I love old Ford trucks from the 30s-60s, I know broad range but I love old classics and within the next 5 years or so, I think I’ll buy one and restore it. Yes, I do know how to fix and restore old classics – used to love it, somehow I got sidetracked on my passions and things I love to do.

And until then, if I need a truck, I’ll rent one or my car is just going to have to haul things around for a while longer..
