seems like a dull subject title however I discovered something new, I ran out of dishwasher soap the other day and was looking around for homemade versions because there had to be a way to use the ingredients that I had on hand to wash my dishes besides doing them by hand.

The recipe I found which sounds like a good idea but I don’t know what the heck borax is and I don’t have any of it lying around: mix 2 cups of borax, 1 cup of baking soda together and keep in a large jar. Add this to the dishwasher dispenser as usual. Then add white vinegar to the rinse dispenser.

What I used: 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap and it did get the dishes somewhat clean but what it really helped with is cleaning the dishwasher itself.

I ended up buying dishwasher soap to get the dishes clean eventually

me thinks next time I’m at the store, I’m grabbing baking soda, borax, vinegar – all the good cheap stuff to clean up around here and its green
