Operation Office Remodel

wish I could find my camera but alas that seems to have gone missing, I know its gotta be here somewhere just like that tax software I can’t find….operation office remodel, my mom and sister got me home depot gift certificate to help finish the remodel, I finally got the demin insulation I needed to finish the project, the floor was ordered months ago and is sitting in the hallway ready to be installed, the paint is here – so all the pieces are almost here and ready to go but alas, it raining, getting drywall at the moment is not in the cards although I do have 2 full sheets in the studio, left over from the bedroom remodel…..and with having a full sheet available I can make sure that full sheet will fit in my SUV before I go buy more

done – Phase pre-1: electrical rewiring – this is what start the whole idea, I had to clear out 2 rooms to have my house rewired, updated to code because the electrical kept catching plugs on fire and I had computers in the office and didn’t want them to go up in smoke

done – finally Phase 1: was/is sanding all the yucky colored spray-on texture off the walls – almost done, 1/2 a wall to go and that will be done today…in the midst of sanding, I found mold on the walls (explains why texture was spray on the wall). And since I found mold, I thought I might as well just tear out the bad sheet rock, clean up the mold and insulate the walls which is why a seemingly easy idea has turned into a 4 month and counting remodel.

done – Phase 2: tear out the sheet rock – that’s done, still have to remove all the screws and nails but that will be done today too

done – Phase 3: clean the mold  – done as well

Phase 4: clean up – ah, a daunting task

Phase 5: insulation and sheetrock hanging

Phase 6: mudding, drying time

Phase 7: painting and while that seems easy, its going to take a few days, I got this magnetic primer which makes the walls magnetic and it takes two days to cure and then I’m putting chalkboard paint over that and it takes two days

Phase 8: the floors go in – yea!!

Phase 9: add new molding

Phase 10: start cleaning everything and moving it all back into the office…

2-3 weeks, I’m thinking??? if I work on it everyday for a few hours between school and work, maybe I should have a goal of 6 weeks, that seems more logical…pictures will be posted soon, as soon as I find that darn camera.
